The Provision Of Smoke In Realistic Firefighting Training Scenarios

Every experienced firefighter will know that smoke is a real killer in fire situations. This fact makes being able to regularly train and experience at close hand varied smoke-filled fire scenarios a matter of paramount importance.

Training smoke for use in these scenarios is usually produced either by hand-held generators for confined spaces, water based smoke for general breathing apparatus training exercises, oil based smoke for live fire behaviour training, or highly persistent and concentrated smoke systems for PPV training.

Another factor that has emphasised the need for such regular training in recent times has been the steady reduction in the number of actual recorded fires, and the consequent reduced exposure that firefighters may have to real life fire incidents. Given the success of the Fire & Rescue Service's fire safety campaigns of recent years, this trend towards the reduced incidence of fire is likely to continue.

Concept are a leading company in the field of design and manufacture of high quality smoke systems for some 50 years. They now supply over 80% of the British fire brigades with safe stimulant smoke to enhance realistic firefighter training, using a range of highly effective and reliable equipment.
