Concept Smoke Systems Supports Hot Smoke Testing in the New Silvertown Tunnel
In October 2024, Concept Smoke Systems was proud to support critical hot smoke testing in London’s highly anticipated Silvertown Tunnel — a major infrastructure project set to significantly improve connectivity and reduce congestion across East London. Working alongside contractors, engineers, and emergency planning teams, Concept’s specialist team carried out a series of live smoke tests designed to validate the tunnel’s life safety systems and emergency response procedures. These tests are an essential part of commissioning any modern tunnel and play a vital role in ensuring safety for future users.
The tests focused on key elements of the tunnel’s fire safety strategy, including:
