Concept Smoke Systems Supports Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service in High-Rise Fire Training Exercise
On April 1st, Concept Smoke Systems collaborated with the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) during a comprehensive high-rise fire training exercise at the University of Reading. This initiative aimed to simulate realistic fire scenarios, enhancing the preparedness and effectiveness of emergency response teams in complex urban environments.
The exercise involved multiple emergency vehicles and featured up to fifty actors portraying casualties, adding depth and realism to the simulation. Smoke simulations and flashing lights were also employed to create an immersive training environment.
Concept Smoke Systems provided advanced equipment and technical expertise to ensure the authenticity of the simulation. Two of our experienced operators managed and controlled the following equipment throughout the exercise:
- FTS Box (Fire Training Simulator): This device utilizes high-powered LEDs and sound effects to simulate the visual and auditory aspects of a fire, enhancing the realism of training scenarios.
-
GOLZ BATT-Pak 5048: A portable power solution that ensures uninterrupted operation of training equipment in environments lacking direct power sources.
-
Spirit 900: These generators produce dense, realistic smoke, crucial for simulating fire conditions in large spaces such as high-rise buildings.
RBFRS highlighted the significance of such exercises, stating that they help develop the skills and experience of their crews.
Concept Smoke Systems are pleased to support RBFRS in their dedication to safeguarding the community. By providing state-of-the-art equipment and expertise, we contribute to creating realistic training environments that prepare firefighters for the complexities of real-world emergencies.
